Location

TH13 is located on the lateral side of the upper forelimb, roughly midway between the shoulder joint and the elbow, slightly towards the rear.

Functions

This point is traditionally used to support tendons and muscles, and for addressing lameness or tension in the forelimb.

Medical information

TH13 is located on the lateral aspect of the upper forelimb, on the line between the greater tubercle of the humerus and the olecranon, approximately halfway, slightly caudal.

TH13 is the Hui-Meeting point of the tendons, influences the channels of tendons and muscles, and is used for tendon issues, muscular tension, and local pain.

When needling TH13, be aware of the proximity to the radial nerve and superficial blood vessels. Avoid deep insertion to prevent injury.
