Location

TH12 is located on the horse’s neck, approximately halfway between the shoulder and the ear, slightly behind the mane crest.

Functions

Xiaoluo is used to relieve tension in the neck area and promote local blood circulation. It can also help with issues in the shoulder and neck region.

TH12 is located on the lateral neck, dorsal to the jugular groove, at the level of the 12th point of the Triple Heater meridian, approximately along the line connecting the shoulder joint to the base of the ear.

TH12 is used for treating local myalgia, stiffness, and restricted movement in the cervical region. It can also be indicated for shoulder issues and to promote Qi flow along the Triple Heater meridian.

When needling TH12, be aware of the proximity to important nerves and vessels. Too deep or improper needling can lead to complications.
