GB23 is located in the 5th intercostal space, on the line between the point of the elbow and the transverse process of the spine, approximately halfway.

GB23 is used for treating thoracic tension, dyspnea, intercostal neuralgia, and to support Qi circulation along the Gallbladder meridian.

Caution with deep needling, as proximity to lungs and pleura increases pneumothorax risk. Should only be performed by experienced practitioners.
