GB22 is located in the 4th intercostal space, on the line between the shoulder joint and the elbow, approximately 2 cun ventral to the shoulder joint.

GB22 is used to treat thoracic pain, dyspnea, cough, and to relax thoracic musculature. It influences thoracic Qi and can be helpful in cases of stagnation in the Gallbladder and Lung meridians.

Caution is required as the point is close to the lung; risk of pneumothorax if needled too deeply. Should only be used by qualified professionals.
