BL64 is located on the lateral dorsal aspect of the foot, just below the fetlock joint, in front of the base of the lateral splint bone.

BL64 is located distally and laterally on the metatarsus, in a depression just in front of the lateral splint bone head, at the level of the fetlock joint.

BL64, the Yuan-source point of the bladder meridian, is used to harmonize the meridian, treat hindlimb lameness, local pain, and support the lower urinary tract.

When needling BL64, consider its superficial location and proximity to tendons and ligaments. Avoid deep insertion to prevent injury.
