Yin Heel 3 – Yongquan, KI1
Yin Qiao 3 – Yongquan (Kidney 1) is an important acupuncture point on the horse's hoof, traditionally used to support kidney energy.
Location
Yongquan is located on the underside of the hoof, in the front third of the frog groove, between the frog and the hoof wall.
Functions
This point is used to strengthen kidney function, promote general well-being, and support in cases of weakness.

Medical information
KI1 is located palmar/plantar, in the anterior third of the central frog sulcus, approximately at the tip of the distal phalanx.
KI1 tonifies kidney Qi, calms the mind, clears heat, and is used for weakness, restlessness, and hoof problems.
KI1 is contraindicated in sensitive or inflamed hooves. Aseptic technique and calm restraint are essential.
