Yin Heel 2 – Rangu, KI2

Yin Qiao 2 – Rangu (KI2) is an acupuncture point on the horse's foot, often used to support kidney function.

Location

KI2 is located on the inside of the hind limb, in the depression below the fetlock joint, just in front of the suspensory ligament attachment.

Functions

This point is used to strengthen kidney energy, support water balance, and address issues like dry skin or hoof problems.

KI2 is located distally and plantarly on the medial aspect of the fetlock joint, in the depression between the fetlock bone and the suspensory ligament attachment.

KI2 tonifies kidney Yin, clears deficiency heat, supports moistening of skin and mucosa, and is used for hoof problems and chronic dryness.

KI2 should be needled with fine needles and gentle technique to avoid local irritation or defensive reactions.
