Safety

Treatment of this point should only be performed by an experienced person, as the area is sensitive and the horse must stand quietly.

Medical information

KI6 is located distal to the medial malleolus, in the depression between the tuber calcanei and the medial malleolus, near the insertion of the medial collateral ligament.

KI6 regulates the Yin Qiao Mai, influences hind limb mobility, supports treatment of lameness, gynecological and urogenital disorders, as well as sleep disturbances.

KI6 should be treated with caution to avoid local irritation or stress in the horse; sterile needles and calm handling are essential.
