Yin Heel 11 – Chengqi, ST1

The point Yin Qiao 11 – Chengqi (ST1) is located at the start of the Stomach meridian and is often used to treat eye problems in horses.

Location

ST1 is located just below the eyeball, in a small depression between the lower eyelid and the zygomatic bone.

Chengqi is used to relieve eye inflammation, support vision, and release tension in the head area.

Using this point requires special care as it is located near the eye. Only work with a calm horse and use gentle pressure.

Medical information

ST1 is located in the depression between the lower orbital rim and the zygomatic bone, at the level of the medial canthus.

ST1 is used to treat blepharospasm, epiphora, conjunctivitis, and other ophthalmological disorders. It can also be used for sedation in cases of headache.

Caution with needling: Due to proximity to the eyeball and risk of injury, ST1 should only be treated by experienced practitioners. Strict aseptic technique is mandatory.
