Location

TH8 is located on the forelimb, on the lateral side, about four finger-widths below the elbow joint, between the radius and ulna.

Functions

Sanyangluo is traditionally used to promote the flow in the meridians and to help with stagnation or pain along the Yang meridians.

TH8 is located on the Triple Heater meridian, laterally on the forelimb, between the radius and ulna, about 4 cun distal to the elbow joint, on the line between TH5 and TH10.

TH8 is used to treat pain and stagnation along the Yang meridians, especially in cases of paralysis or weakness of the forelimb, and to harmonize the three Yang meridians.

When needling TH8, pay attention to depth and direction to avoid damaging vessels or nerves. Avoid deep needling in young or very thin horses.
