TH1 is located at the outer coronary band of the forelimb, right at the lateral edge of the hoof.

Stimulation of this point should be done carefully to avoid stressing or injuring the horse.

Medical information

TH1 is located at the lateral coronary band of the fore hoof, immediately distal to the lateral hoof cartilage, at the skin-horn junction.

TH1 opens the Triple Heater meridian, clears heat, promotes channel patency, and can be used for fever, ear issues, and local pain.

In horses with hoof issues or local inflammation, TH1 should be treated with particular caution. Aseptic conditions are recommended.
