Medical information

SP18 is located in the 4th intercostal space, on the line connecting the olecranon to the 4th costal arch, approximately 2 Cun below the elbow.

SP18 regulates thoracic Qi, resolves phlegm, and supports the lung. Indicated for thoracic congestion, cough, dyspnea, and mastitis.

Caution with deep needling, as proximity to the pleura and lung increases the risk of pneumothorax. Only superficial stimulation is recommended.
