Medical information

SP17 is located on the line between the olecranon and the last costal arch, in the sixth intercostal space, approximately halfway between the spine and the sternum.

SP17 is used for treating thoracic pain, cough, and dyspnea, as well as supporting spleen function, but should be selected with caution due to its proximity to the pleura.

Caution is required as SP17 is close to the pleura; avoid deep or aggressive needling to prevent pneumothorax.
