SP16 is located on the Spleen-Pancreas meridian, approximately 3 cun lateral to the midline, at the level of the 13th intercostal space, in line with the umbilicus.

SP16 is used for stagnation in the middle Jiao, abdominal pain, bloating, and to regulate Qi and blood movement in the abdomen.

SP16 is close to the peritoneum and internal organs; avoid deep needling. Use caution in horses with a thin abdominal wall or known organ issues.
