Location

SI14 is located about one hand's width lateral to the withers, at the level of the scapula, near the outer edge of the shoulder blade.

Medical information

SI14 is located on the line between the dorsal border of the scapula and the spinous process of the first thoracic vertebra, approximately 3 cun lateral to the dorsal midline.

SI14 is used for treating shoulder stiffness, myalgia, local pain, and to promote Qi and blood circulation in the upper back region.

In horses with local trauma, infection, or marked muscle atrophy in the shoulder region, SI14 should be used with caution or avoided. Aseptic technique is mandatory.
