Location

KI5 is located on the inside of the hind limb, about one hand’s width below KI3, in a depression between the tendon and the bone.

KI5 is located distal to KI3, in a depression between the medial collateral ligament of the hock and the calcaneus, usually easily palpable.

KI5 tonifies Kidney Yin, clears heat, and is used for cycle disorders, hind limb weakness, and lower back problems.

For KI5, be aware of the proximity to sensitive structures such as tendons and vessels. Avoid invasive stimulation in cases of local inflammation or trauma.
