KI18 is located on the lateral thoracic wall, approximately at the level of the eighth intercostal space, one thumb-width below KI17.

KI18 is located on the kidney meridian, on the lateral thoracic wall, in the eighth intercostal space, approximately 2 cun lateral to the midline, one thumb-width caudal to KI17.

KI18 is used to regulate Qi in the thorax and abdomen, relieve cough, asthma, vomiting, and support kidney function.

KI18 is located in close proximity to the ribs and thoracic cavity. Caution is required to avoid pneumothorax or injury to internal organs.
