KI16 is located on both sides of the abdomen, about 0.5 cun lateral to the midline, at the level of the umbilicus.

Medical information

KI16 is located 0.5 cun lateral to the ventral midline, at the level of the umbilicus, between the rectus abdominis muscle and the peritoneum.

KI16 regulates abdominal Qi, tonifies kidney function, and can be used for abdominal stagnation, pain, and digestive disorders.

Due to the proximity to the peritoneum and internal organs, special caution is required when needling. Only superficial stimulation is recommended.
