HT1 is located in the horse’s armpit, right next to the pectoral muscle where the forelimb attaches.

HT1 is located in the depression medial to the shoulder joint, at the junction of the thorax and shoulder, in the axillary region.
HT1 is used to treat Heart Qi and Blood stagnation, restlessness, chest pain, and to promote flow in the Heart meridian.
HT1 is close to the axillary vein and brachial plexus; precise needling technique and caution are required to avoid injury.
