GB4 is located in a depression at the junction of the zygomatic process and temporal bone, approximately 0.5 cun anterior to the base of the ear, dorsal to the zygomatic arch.

GB4 is used to treat headaches, temporomandibular joint dysfunction, trigeminal neuralgia, and to calm the mind. It regulates Qi in the head region and can help with local pain and tension.

The proximity to sensitive structures such as nerves and blood vessels requires precise needling technique and special caution to avoid injury.
