Medical information
Bl51 is located laterally on the hind thigh, at the level of the biceps femoris muscle, about halfway between the tuber coxae and the patella, slightly caudal to the midline.
Bl51 is used to treat myopathies, local pain, and tension in the hind thigh region. It can also be used for bladder meridian disorders and to support hindquarter function.
When treating Bl51, pay attention to the depth of needling to avoid traumatizing the biceps femoris muscle and surrounding structures.
