Bladder 46 (BL46) – Lower thoracic back lateral line
Location
Bl46 is located in the lower thoracic area, approximately at the level of the 5th to 6th rib, on the lateral line of the horse, just below the scapula.

Medical information
Bl46 is located 3 cun lateral to the lower end of the spinous process of the 5th and 6th thoracic vertebrae, on the intercostal line between the ribs.
Bl46 is used to treat thoracic tension, dyspnea, cough, and to support lung and heart function. It may also be indicated for muscular issues in the chest region.
Caution is required when needling, as Bl46 is close to the pleura. Adjust needle depth and angle to avoid the risk of pneumothorax.
