Medical information

Bl31 is located in the first posterior sacral foramen, at the level of the sacral base, lateral to the median line. Palpation is performed along the dorsal sacral foramina.

Bl31 is used to treat lumbosacral issues, sciatica, hindquarter dysfunction, and to support pelvic mobility. It affects local nerve branches and can promote blood circulation.

When needling Bl31, special care must be taken to avoid irritation of the sacral nerve and surrounding structures. Avoid deep needling if localization is uncertain.
