Yang Linking 12 – Fengchi, GB20

The Fengchi (GB20) point is located at the base of the horse's skull and is commonly used to help with headaches, neck tension, and neurological issues.

Location

Fengchi is located on both sides of the midline, in the depression between the occipital bone and the first cervical vertebra, just behind the base of the ear.

GB20 is located in the depression between the sternocephalicus and cleidomastoideus muscles, caudal to the mastoid process, at the level of the atlas wing.

GB20 is used to treat wind-related disorders, headaches, neck stiffness, vestibular disturbances, and to promote Qi flow in the head region.

Due to the proximity to the vertebral artery and accessory nerve, precise needling technique is required. Avoid deep or aggressive stimulation.
