Location

Du12 is located on the midline of the back, in the depression between the 3rd and 4th thoracic vertebrae.

This point should be used with caution as it is close to the spine. Only apply with appropriate training.

Medical information

Du12 is located on the dorsal midline, in the intervertebral space between T3 and T4. Palpation of spinous processes is recommended for precise localization.

Du12 is used to strengthen Wei Qi, in cases of infection, fever, cough, and to support lung and heart function.

Caution during needling, as proximity to the dura mater and spinal cord increases risk. Should only be used by experienced practitioners.
