Safety

This point should be treated carefully as it is close to the spine. Only work with a calm horse and gentle pressure.

Medical information

Du11 is located precisely on the dorsal midline, in the intervertebral space between T5 and T6. Palpation of the spinous processes is recommended for accurate localization.

Du11 is traditionally used to calm Shen, treat cough, dyspnea, and support thoracic and neurological disorders.

Caution is required when needling due to proximity to the spine, which increases the risk of injury. Avoid deep needling, especially in thin or young horses.
