TH4 is located in the depression distal and lateral to the accessory carpal bone, between the tendons of the extensor carpi ulnaris and extensor digitorum lateralis muscles.
TH4 regulates Qi flow in the Triple Heater meridian, supports treatment of carpal lameness, and acts on local swelling and pain.
Caution in cases of local lesions or inflammation; aseptic technique and calm restraint of the horse are essential.
