ST21 is located bilaterally to the ventral midline, approximately 5 cun lateral, at the level of the 13th intercostal space, between the rectus abdominis and external oblique muscles.

ST21 is used to regulate stomach Qi, address acute and chronic gastrointestinal disorders, and alleviate abdominal pain.

Caution with deep palpation or needling to avoid injury to the peritoneum or underlying organs.
