Medical information
ST14 is located in the intercostal space between the fourth and fifth ribs, approximately on the line between the elbow and the shoulder joint, lateral to the chest wall.
ST14 is used to treat thoracic pain, dyspnea, and local muscular tension. It may also be indicated for disorders of the Stomach meridian related to the chest region.
When treating ST14, special care must be taken to avoid pneumothorax or injury to intercostal vessels. Do not needle deeply and only use with appropriate experience.
