Location

SP12 is located on the inner thigh, about a hand's breadth below the groin, in a depression near the large femoral artery.

Functions

Medical information

SP12 is located on the medial thigh, in the depression between the sartorius and gracilis muscles, approximately 1 cun lateral to the femoral artery.

SP12 regulates Qi in the lower body, promotes blood circulation in the pelvic region, and is used for lameness, edema, and stagnation in the lower jiao.

SP12 is located very close to the femoral artery and vein. Needling should be performed with utmost caution to avoid vascular injury.
