Location

SI16 is located on the upper neck, in a depression just behind the angle of the jaw and in front of the first cervical vertebra. The exact location should be checked with a diagram or under supervision.

Functions

SI16 can help release tension in the neck and improve blood circulation in the head region. It is also used for disorders of the voice or larynx.

SI16 is located in the depression dorsal to the sternocephalicus muscle, at the level of the atlas wing, caudal and slightly ventral to the angle of the jaw.

SI16 is used to treat disorders of the head and neck region, especially laryngeal issues, dysphagia, voice changes, and local pain. It regulates Qi and blood in the Window of Heaven area.

Caution is required when needling, as SI16 is close to the jugular vein, vagus nerve, and other vital structures. Aseptic technique and precise anatomical knowledge are essential.
