Location

LU3 is located on the upper part of the forelimb, about halfway up the humerus, on the outside of the muscle between the shoulder and the elbow.

LU3 should only be treated by experienced individuals, as the point is deep and sensitive structures are nearby. Improper use can harm the horse.

Medical information

LU3 is located on the lateral aspect of the humerus, proximal to the insertion of the brachialis muscle, about one-third of the distance between the shoulder and elbow joints.

LU3 is used to treat chronic cough, asthma, emotional disorders, and to clear heat from the lung meridian.

LU3 is located deep within muscle tissue and close to important neurovascular structures. Caution is necessary to avoid hematoma or nerve injury.
