Safety

Special care is required when treating this point, as it is located near sensitive facial structures. Only trained individuals should apply it.

Medical information

LI19 is located lateral to the nostril, in the depression between the nasal wing and the nasolabial groove, approximately at the level of the lower border of the nostril.

LI19 is used to treat nasal congestion, rhinitis, facial paralysis, and local pain. It influences the opening of the nasal passages and can support cases involving the facial nerve.

Due to the proximity to sensitive structures such as the infraorbital nerve, precise needling technique and caution with anxious or irritated horses are recommended.
