Location

KI27 is located at the junction of the chest and neck, in the depression below the collarbone, about a thumb’s width from the sternum.

KI27 is used to support the respiratory system, for cough, and to strengthen kidney energy. It can also be helpful in cases of general weakness.

KI27 is located in the 2nd intercostal space, approximately 2 cun lateral to the sternum, in the infraclavicular fossa.

KI27 tonifies kidney Qi, assists in descending lung Qi, and is used for chronic cough, dyspnea, and chest pain.

Caution is required when needling, as KI27 is close to the pleura and major vessels. Avoid deep insertion.
