Location

GB37 is located on the outer hind limb, about four finger-widths above the lateral hock, between the tendons. It is usually felt as a small depression.

GB37 (Xuánli) is located on the lateral aspect of the lower leg, 2 cun proximal to the lateral malleolus, between the peroneus longus and extensor digitorum lateralis muscles.

GB37 dispels wind-heat, promotes the free flow of Qi in the gallbladder meridian, and is used for eye disorders, lameness, and local pain.

When treating GB37, be aware of the proximity to sensitive structures such as tendons and nerves. Aseptic technique and calm handling are essential.
