GB11 is located caudal and slightly ventral to the base of the ear, on the mastoid, in a small depression between the mastoid process and the wing of the atlas.
GB11 is used to treat headaches, neck stiffness, tinnitus, and local pain. It influences the Gall Bladder, Bladder, and San Jiao meridians.
Caution is advised when needling, as sensitive structures such as nerves and blood vessels are in close proximity. Deep needling is not recommended.
