Medical information
BL9 is located approximately 1.5 cun lateral to the midline, directly below the occipital bone, at the level of the upper nuchal ligament, in a small depression behind the base of the ear.
BL9 is used for treating headaches, neck stiffness, neurological disorders, and for harmonizing the spirit.
Due to the proximity to sensitive structures such as the occipital bone and atlas region, precise needling with minimal stimulation is advisable.
