Yang Linking 5 – Jianjing, GB21

GB21, also known as Jianjing, is an important acupuncture point on the Gallbladder meridian, often used to relax the shoulder muscles.

Location

GB21 is located at the highest point of the shoulder, roughly midway between the withers and the shoulder joint.

Functions

GB21 is located on the line connecting the highest point of the withers to the acromion, about halfway, in the trapezius muscle (cervical part).

Caution with deep needling to avoid injury to nerves, vessels, or the lung. Do not use in pregnant mares.
