Yang Linking 3 – Naoshu, SI10

Naoshu (SI10) is an important acupuncture point on the Small Intestine meridian in horses. It is often used to support shoulder and forelimb function.

Location

Naoshu (SI10) is located on the scapula, above the shoulder joint, in a depression behind the acromion.

SI10 is located cranial and distal to the scapular spine, in the depression caudal to the acromion, approximately at the level of the shoulder joint.

Indicated for shoulder stiffness, myopathies, and local pain. Promotes Qi and blood circulation in the scapular region and can be used for forelimb lameness.

Caution with deep needling to avoid injury to underlying structures (nerves, vessels). Strict aseptic technique is essential.
