Yang Heel 12 – Fengchi, GB20

Fengchi (GB20) is an important acupuncture point at the back of the horse's head, often used to help with neck tension and headaches.

Location

Fengchi is located bilaterally at the base of the skull, in the depression between the occipital bone and the first cervical vertebra.

GB20 is located in the depression between the sternocephalicus and cleidomastoideus muscles, caudal and lateral to the mastoid process.

GB20 is used to treat wind disorders, headaches, neck stiffness, eye problems, and to calm the spirit.

Caution during needling, as the point is close to the occipital artery and the greater occipital nerve. Avoid deep needling to prevent injury.
