Extraordinary Meridians of the Horse
The extraordinary meridians, also known as the curious or extraordinary vessels, form a deeper layer of the horse’s energetic system.
They act as reservoirs that store and regulate Qi, supporting and balancing the twelve main meridians. When the energy flow in the body is disrupted or one meridian becomes overloaded, the extraordinary meridians redistribute energy to restore harmony.
They help maintain overall energetic stability and protect the body from deeper imbalances. These meridians are especially important in chronic or complex conditions that affect multiple systems. In equine acupuncture, they are used to harmonize the horse’s entire energy network and to strengthen its natural healing capacity.
