Location

LU8 is located on the inside of the forelimb, about one thumb-width above the carpus, directly on the lung meridian.

Medical information

LU8 is located distal to the radius, in the depression between the tendon of the flexor carpi radialis muscle and the radius, about 1 cun proximal to the carpus.

LU8 clears heat and promotes the descending function of Lung Qi. It is used for acute cough, dyspnea, and disorders of the lung meridian.

LU8 is located close to the radial artery and should be needled with fine needles and careful technique to avoid hematoma or vascular injury.
