Safety

Treatment of HT4 should only be performed by experienced therapists, as improper application may cause discomfort. Always observe the horse closely during the session.

Medical information

HT4 is located on the Heart meridian, 1.5 cun proximal to the carpal crease, between the flexor carpi ulnaris (ulnar) and superficial digital flexor (radial) muscles. Palpation of the tendons aids precise localization.

HT4 has a sedative effect on Shen disturbances, regulates Heart Qi, and can be used as adjunct therapy for local issues such as carpal stiffness or tendon disorders.

HT4 should be handled with care, especially in horses with cardiac conditions or increased sensitivity around the carpal joint. Maintain aseptic technique.
