Medical information

Du5 is located on the dorsal midline, in the intervertebral space between L1 and L2. Palpation of the spinous processes facilitates precise localization.

Du5 is used for treating lumbago, hindquarter weakness, and for harmonizing the Du Mai. It may also be indicated in cases of stagnation in the lumbar region.

Caution in horses with back problems or vertebral anomalies. Avoid deep needling if vertebral instability or neurological deficits are suspected.
