Location

Ren15 is located on the midline of the abdomen, about one hand's width below the sternum, just in front of the chest.

Medical information

Ren15 is located on the ventral midline, approximately 1 cun caudal to the xiphoid process, between the insertions of the abdominal muscles.

Ren15 is used to regulate Qi, calm the mind, and treat thoracic or abdominal stagnation. It is also relevant for anxiety and cardiac symptoms.

Caution is required when needling, as Ren15 is close to the diaphragm and pericardium. Superficial insertion is recommended to avoid injury to internal organs.
